I’m a TV junkie, it’s one of the things I love doing most. I watch tons of shows, and it was hard to make a top five of my all time favorites, but I think I managed to do it. I’ve also included a few honorable mentions.
Here you go:
Okay, let’s make one thing clear now, because you’re going to hear me talk A LOT about this show on my blog. Dexter is my favorite TV show of all time. I love everything about it: the unique storyline, the characters, the cinematography, the script and soundtrack. It’s such a masterpiece.
When I first started the show, I wasn’t sure it was for me, with the ‘good’ serial killer and all. But a few episodes in, and I was absolutely hooked. I’m watching it from start to finish for the third time now. Sorry not sorry.
Like Jennifer Carpenter said: ”Wear socks you don’t like, because we’re going to KNOCK. THEM. OFF.”
I’m sure a lot of you have already seen Dexter, but if you have not, you should definitely give it a chance. Even if you’re not into the main idea of the show, I’m almost sure you’ll at least like some aspects of it.
Game of Thrones
This one kind of speaks for itself. I’ve never seen a show that’s so beautifully mastered. The producers, director, writers and actors all do a wonderful job! The sets are absolutely wonderful. This show just sucks you in and takes you on a ride through all different sorts of emotions you didn’t even know you had. I don’t even want to know how many times I’ve cried while watching this show, it’s kind of embarrassing.
The characters are so beautifully shaped, which makes you like a character very much or deeeeply despise it (ugh Joffrey).
My favorite episodes are definitely the last two. I’ve watched them over and over and just can’t get over how perfect they are.
I can’t wait till the next season! Be ready, peeps. I have a feeling this one is going to set the bar even higher for the shows around them.
Oh, I can’t stress this enough: if you haven’t watched GOT for whatever reason, WATCH IT. Just do it. No excuses.
This used to be my favorite TV show of all time before I started watching Dexter and Game of Thrones. I still love it as much as I used to, and it holds a very special place in my heart, but those other two got a little more space there 😉
Season one, two and four are INCREDIBLE. Seriously, everything about it is perfect. Season three and five kind of disappointed me, though.
I had high expectations for season five because of where they left off in season four, but it didn’t quite exceed my expectations. This was when I started having my doubts about the upcoming season.
Thank God season six wasn’t a disappointment! It was right back on track and I hope this show continues to do so next year!

I’m sure by now you can tell I’m into crime shows, but only good ones 😉 Sherlock is definitely one of them. That iMDB rate doesn’t lie this time. This show is so addicting you probably watch all four season in four days, just like I did. Oh, and please don’t feel guilty about it. It’s absolutely normal.
The only (slightly) negative thing of this show I can come up with is that it takes so long till the next season, although I understand how much there goes into each episode and don’t blame them. As a fan it’s just annoying sometimes because you want new material as fast as possible.
Each episode in itself can be seen as a movie, which was the goal of the director. Twists and turns are all over the place with this show, it’ll surprise you over and over.
Sorry, another crime show. This is the last one, I promise. This dark psychological crime drama will definitely be your thing if you’re into Dexter and Homeland.
Alice Morgan is such a fantastic character, and Luther doesn’t disappoint either. I love the relationship between the two. I wish Alice would have gotten more screen time, but it is what it is. I’m still hoping for a fifth season, but I can probably keep doing that for another ten years.
I’m not going to say too much about this show, you just need to go into it as blindly as you can, and let is surprise you in all ways possible.
Honorable Mentions (shows I absolutely LOVE, but didn’t make my top five favorite)
– The Affair
– Prison Break
– The Vampire Diaries
So what are you top five favorite TV shows? Have you watched any of these and if so, what do you think of them?
