The first half of 2017 wasn’t too bad for Hollywood, but hasn’t been the best either (in my opinion). The second half of this year looks much brighter. Below I summed up 12 movies I’m most looking forward to! I also wrote down some honorable mentions, because I just had to.

Baby Driver

Release Date: 29 June 2017
Cast: Ansel Elgort, Jon Bernthal, Kevin Spacey
Director: Edgar Wright

I know this movie is already out, but since I haven’t seen it yet, I’m gonna see it in the second half of 2017 (which starts tomorrow). After reading about this movie and seeing the trailer, I couldn’t be more excited for this! I have a feeling this is gonna be one of my favorites of the year!

War For The Planet Of The Apes

Release Date: 14 July 2017
Cast: Toby Kebbell, Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson
Director: Matt Reeves

I absolutely loved the first two movies and can’t wait for this one to come out! My expectations are high, and I have a feeling this movie is not going to let us down!

Release Date: 18 July 2017
Cast: Troian Bellisario, Tom Felton, James Remar
Director: Tommy Bertelsen

Probably not a lot of you have heard of this movie, and I haven’t seen it in many ‘2017 anticipated’ lists either. This movie doesn’t really stand in the spotlight and with it’s low budget, maybe doesn’t seem like a typical movie you should be really thrilled for.

The fact that I look forward to this movie so much mainly has to do with personal reasons. Troian Bellisario wrote the script and said it’s a deeply personal story about what she’s gone through when she was younger, what includes an eating disorder and being insecure.

The movie also deals with other mental health issues, which I think is a topic not enough GOOD movies are about. Most of the time, they just get it wrong. Since I’ve gone through something very similar as Troian, I’m really excited to see how she’s going to portray this on screen.

And in general, I can’t wait to see her on the big screen again!

Release Date: 21 July 2017
Cast: Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Harry Styles
Director: Christoper Nolan

This is one of the movies I’ve been most excited for in my entire life. A world war II movie directed by Nolan, I really couldn’t ask for more (yes, I’m a die-hard Nolanite). The cast is fucking amazing as well. Can’t wait!

Release Date: 7 September 2017
Cast: Bill Skarsgard, Jaeden Liberher, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis
Director: Andres Muschietti

I am not the biggest horror film fan in the world, but It really gets me thrilled. It looks so damn good!

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Release Date: 21 September 2017
Cast: Taron Eerton, Colin Firth, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Jullianne Moore, Mark Strong
Director: Matthew Vaughn

I went into the first Kingsman movie blindly, without knowing anything about it. It pleasantly surprised me, I loved it! The trailer for the second film looks amazing. They casted some amazing people who I think can make this movie as good, if not better, than the first one!

Blade Runner 2049

Release Date: 5 October 2017
Cast: Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Robin Wright
Director: Dennis Villeneuve

Look at the trailer. Isn’t that the best looking trailer you’ve ever seen? Damn. One of my favorite actors starring in this sci-fi thriller is something I only could have hoped for! Counting the days till October 5!

Release Date: 13 October 2017
Cast: Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Diana Rigg
Director: Andy Serkis

A true story. A drama. A romance. You got me. Oh, and Andrew Garfield is a plus as well. You never know for sure how a movie like this is going to turn out, but for now I’m really excited and can’t wait to see it!

Thor: Ragnarok

Release Date: 2 November 2017
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo
Director: Taika Waititi

I have to admit, I wasn’t really satisfied with the second Thor movie, but I do have high hopes for this one. It’s always nice to see Hiddleston and Hemsworth together on screen, that alone makes me want to watch this one.

Murder on the Orient Express

Release Date: 10 November 2017
Cast: Johnny Depp Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Penelope Cruz
Director: Kenneth Branagh

Usually I read the book before the movie, but with this one, I don’t want to do that. I want to go into this one as blindly as I can and (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised. The fact that Johnny Depp plays a big role in this movie already makes me happy. I’m in!

Release Date: 17 November 2017
Cast: Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Mandy Patinkin
Director: Stephen Chbosky

When I saw Tremblay performance in Room, I immediately fell in love. What a talent does this young guy have! He is by far one of my favorite child actors, and I can’t wait to see more of him! Wonder is the perfect opportunity to do so. The story really grabs my attention and with this cast, I’m absolutely sure it can turn into something very beautiful!

Release Date: 22 November 2017
Cast: Alanna Ubach, Benjamin Bratt, Gael Garcia Bernal, Edward James Olmos
Director: Lee Unkrich

Another Pixar movie in the making, people! I am a big big big Disney fan, and I especially love the Pixar movies. This one looks really good and I can’t wait to say it!

Honorable Mentions:

– Spider-Man: Homecoming (July)

– The Dark Tower (August)

– To the Bone (August)

– The LEGO Ninjago Movie (September)

– The Snowman (October)

–┬áJustice League (November)
